For IDEA in Miami Beach, REICOFIL, world market leader in constructing spunbonding and meltblown-lines (nonwoven), has given its trade fair booth a total make-over. The company presentation’s eye-catcher is a kinetic sculpture by ART+COM that will make important processes of the lines sensually perceivable.
Nonwoven materials find wide usage from nappies, over surgery barriers, to absorbent and wiping cloths. The different sorts of nonwovens – spunbond and meltblown – vary in structure and strength. In composite lines, they can be combined with each other. The exhibit visualizes the processes of their production in an abstracted sculptural fashion. The kinetic sculpture’s blades simulate two central modes of the composite method. With two independently motorized servo-belts, the blades may be twisted or positioned in parallel without contortion. When the blades are parallel, they can be used as a projection screen for a representation of the line.
The succession of these movements is controlled by the interface on a pivoting touch screen that visualizes a spunbonding line in 3D. By turning the screen that is synchronized with the virtual line model on it, visitors can choose different modules for the line. Once they activate these on the touch screen, they prompt the rearrangement of the kinetic sculpture’s blades and also receive further information in images, texts or films on the screen. This way, the customer gets an overview of the different lines that REICOFIL will assemble according to their individual needs.
IDEA took place from April 23rd through 26th at Miami Beach Convention Center.
