The „timescope“, developed by ART+COM as a panorama telescope for medial time travels, will be marketed by Wall AG worldwide.
In a licence agreement between the companies, Wall commits to produce the “timescope” while ART+COM provides software and contents. On 30 August, 3:30 p.m., the medially augmented telescope will be presented to the public for the first time in a road show at the Brandenburg Gate in the presence of Berlin's mayor Klaus Wowereit.
The idea of the "timescope" is a virtual journey in time via telescope. The device contains controls that enable viewers to see a place in the past or future through its eyepiece. The "timescope" can be used for a wide range of purposes: It can be set up for use at tourist sites giving visitors the chance to get a closer view of how these locations looked in the past. An example of this is a look on Berlin’s “Schlossplatz”, optionally with the City Castle or the GDR’s parliament building. A set up is also possible on large-scale building projects to follow the building progress.
