A minutely detailed three-dimensional model of ancient Troy and its surrounds was constructed based on archaeological studies, satellite imaging and laser evaluation.
A comprehensive database provides numerous additional sources of information within the virtual reality environment of the model, allowing descriptions and pictures of artefacts to be viewed at the location of the item’s discovery. By means of the intuitive user interface, the "TroiaVR" system makes it possible to go on journey back in time to the reconstructed epochs.
Two systems were developed – a working system for archaeological study and a presentation system for museums and exhibitionsin cooperation with the Troy-project of Tübingen University.
