Media Panel at Zurich Airport

15.05.2012 | An extended media panel showcases the theme ‘The fascination of flying’ in the airport's newly opened restaurant and lounge area. The 20-metre long panel of 28 LCD screens is meticulously attuned to the flight schedule, visualises information about airport traffic and provides impressions of travel destinations.

A total of 192 five-minute graphic animations show flight routes, interesting facts and figures related to operations at Zurich Airport, cloudscapes and short film portraits of destinations – all produced in ten times the resolution of HDTV. With 10 000 pixels the horizontal resolution is five times that of current film. All content was custom produced.

Later this year the animations will be rendered in real time based on current data from the airport's flight information system, so the content will respond to even short-term changes in the flight schedule.
